This cedar is native to the Eastern mediterranean and is the national emblem of Lebanon and featured on their flag. One of the four only true cedars (two of the others: deodara and atalantica are also in the park) . Mentioned several times in the bible, "the tree of the righteous", for building temples and the bark for curing leprosy.
